Paulo Sande has been a partner at Antas da Cunha Ecija & Associados, Sociedade de Advogados, Lda. since January 2025.
He has a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, a postgraduate degree in EU Law and a Master's degree in Political Science and International Relations from the Portuguese Catholic University.
With over 40 years' experience, he has worked in the areas of Political Science Law, Communication and Political Consultancy. He has extensive experience at both European and national level. He was a partner at Cruz Vilaça Advogados between 2019 and 2024. He was previously political advisor to the President of the Republic (Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, 2016-21) and director of the Portuguese Office of the European Parliament (between 2004 and 2012).
His areas of specialization are European Union law, namely judicial cooperation in the European area and public international law, energy law and public procurement law.
He was a guest lecturer at the University of Lisbon (ISCSP) and currently teaches at the Portuguese Catholic University and Lusíada University. He was a member of the boards of the Portuguese Association for Community Studies and the Association for Economic and Social Development (SEDES). He is currently a board member of the Nossa Europa Association.
He has been a regular commentator on various television channels, newspapers and radio stations, and has written regular columns in Diário de Notícias and the electronic newspaper Observador. He is currently an RTP commentator.
He holds several distinctions, including the Order of Infante Dom Henrique for his “contribution to the success of Portuguese integration into the European Union”.
