Tiago Cochofel de Azevedo (born 1981), Of Counsel at Antas da Cunha ECIJA & Associados, R.L. (2023).

Graduated in Law from the University of Lisbon Law School (2004). Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association in 2006. After graduating, he completed a Scientific Master’s degree in labour law at the Lisbon School of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University (2012), with a thesis published in the same area, as well as a Postgraduate Degree in Sports Law (2017) at the same institution. He holds a Certificate of Pedagogical Competence as a Certified Trainer. Tiago is also a PhD candidate at NOVA School of Law (since 2022).

Tiago completed his internship (2004) and joined the Labour Department of Simmons & Simmons Rebelo de Sousa & Associados, as an Associate (2006), having subsequently joined the Labour Department of Vieira de Almeida & Associados (2011), where he took on the roles of Associate and Managing Associate.

He has collaborated with various national and international publications, where he has published scientific articles on labour issues, as well as with human resources publications, frequently participating as a speaker at Labour Law-related conferences.

Ranked by Chambers & Partners Europe Employment (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2023), Who's Who Legal Global Guide (2023), Best Lawyers (2023), and has also been awarded with the European Rising Star Award in the Labour and Employment category (2020).

Tiago is a member of APODIT (Portuguese Employment Law Association), Vice-President of AJJ (Young Labour Lawyers Association) and a member of the Social Sciences and Jurisprudence Section of the Lisbon Geographical Society.

Preferred areas of practice are Labour Law, Labour Tech and International Labour Relations.
