Isabel Abalada Matos is a Partner in Public Law, Planning, Environment and Energy practice area
Isabel Abalada Matos focuses on in Public Law, Environment and Urban Planning, with particular emphasis on General Administrative Law, Urban Planning Law, Spatial Planning and Environmental Law, advising public and private entities within her areas of expertise, including national and international developers, real estate investment funds and private equity funds, as well as clients in the industrial, tourism, housing and logistics sectors. Has extensive experience in urban planning and environmental matters.
Holds a Law degree from the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University and has completed postgraduate training in EU Law, Environmental Law, Administrative Litigation, Public Procurement and Negotiation, including advanced training at Harvard Law School.
Previously served as legal adviser to the Secretary of State for Local Government and Spatial Planning, contributing to the drafting of key legislation and to territorial planning processes.
Was a co‑founder of LCA – Sociedade de Advogados, RL and, from 2015 onwards, of AMMC Legal – Abalada Matos, Moraes Cardoso e Associados, Sociedade de Advogados, RL, firms recognised for their practice in these areas.
Acts as a guest lecturer, is a regular speaker at academic and professional conferences and is the author and co‑author of several legal publications in the fields of urban planning, spatial planning and environmental law.
