Rui de Amorim Mesquita (born in 1965) partner at Antas da Cunha Ecija & Associados, Sociedade de Advogados, R.L. Rui de Amorim Mesquita obtained his law degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon in 1989 and has been a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 1990.

In his academic journey, he completed postgraduate studies in Finance and Taxation at ISCTE in 1990, as well as a postgraduate course in Insurance Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon in 2021/2021. Additionally, he served as a lecturer at the Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa in 2018.

From 1991 to 2001, Rui de Amorim Mesquita held positions as Claims Director/Technician in various insurance companies, including PFA, Sociedade Portuguesa de Seguros, Companhia de Seguros Equitativa, Companhia de Seguros Europeia, and Companhia de Seguros WINTERTHUR. He co-founded the law firm João Cirne Tomar & Rui de Amorim Mesquita in 2001, where he was a partner until 2020. Until 2020, he worked as a lawyer for Mapfre Seguros Generales, S.A. From 2020 to 2023, he was a founding partner at Rui Mesquita & Associados.

Rui is a member of PEOPIL (Pan European Organization for Personal Injury Lawyers) and the AAJ (American Association of Justice)and has also served as a trainer for General Civil Liability – Practical Cases at the Portuguese Insurance Association and for Postgraduate Courses in Insurance, Medicine and Insurance, and Medical Liability at APS (Portuguese Insurance Association) and the Faculty of Medicine of Porto in collaboration with APS.
