Ana specialises in civil and commercial litigation and has over 25 years' experience representing national and international companies in significant disputes in Portuguese courts and arbitration centres, including the International Chamber of Commerce. She has advised and represented various multinational corporations in a wide range sectors and industries.
She has developed strong expertise in product liability and distribution agreements and frequently represents clients in disputes involving defective products and breaches of exclusive or selective distribution contracts.
After completing her internship in 1999, Ana joined the Dispute Resolution Practice Group of Vieira de Almeida & Associados in 2004, where she remained for over two decades until June 2025.
She has also collaborated with several national and international publications and was co-author of the extensive commentary on the Voluntary Arbitration Law (Almedina, 2014). She was also co-author of the Portugal chapter of the Product Regulation and Liability Review (The Law Reviews, 2016–2018) and the Antitrust Litigation Practice Guide (Chambers Global Practice Guides, 2019), as well as the Insurance and Reinsurance Guide (Chambers Global Practice Guides, 2020). More recently, she co-authored an article in the book The Practice of Litigation: Reflections and Trends in Substantive and Procedural Law, launched in 2024 (Almedina).
She participated as a guest lecturer in the “1st Advanced Course on Insurance against Work Accidents”, hosted by AIDA Portugal (the Portuguese section of the International Association of Insurance Law), co-presenting the module on “Accident and its implications”. Insurer’s Delay”, and the module Interdisciplinary Legal Practice (Drafting of Procedural Documents) at the Faculty of Law of the Nova University of Lisbon.
She joined Antas da Cunha Ecija in 2025.
