BIOGRAPHY
Hugo completed his law degree – Universidade Católica Portuguesa – in 2012, and his Master Degree in Tax Law at the same university in 2015.
Between 2013 and 2014, Hugo was an Assistant Tax Consultant at PwC in Portugal, joining in May 2014 Gama Glória as a Junior Associate.
Between October 2015 and January 2021 Hugo worked as a trainee and Associate at the tax practice area of Vieira de Almeida & Associados.
In 2021, Hugo joined Antas da Cunha Ecija, Sociedade de Advogados, RL as an Associate.
Hugo has been providing regular advice to financial institutions (in particular Banks, Insurance companies, collective investment undertaking and Venture Funds) as well as to multinational and domestic groups in other business sectors, covering tax, regulatory and compliance matters.
He has been regularly providing assistance in several transactions, in Portugal and crossborder, such as the issuance of equity, classical and innovative debt instruments and programmes and setting up of classic loans, and actively participating on domestic and international tax planning.
Hugo is a member of AFP (Portuguese Tax Association), IFA (International Fiscal Association) and ANJAP (Portuguese Young Lawyers National Association) and the author of several articles published in specialised journals and publications.
