Matilde Alves Lourenço, Franco-Portuguese, Associate Lawyer at Antas da Cunha Ecija & Associados, Sociedade de Advogados, R.L., since September 2022.

Matilde is part of the French Desk, assisting french-speaking clients in all areas essential to their implementation, investments, and development in Portugal.

Her practice is divided between legal advice to Private Clients, on one hand, focusing mainly on personal income tax, investment projects, wealth management and family succession planning; and, on the other hand, on Companies, focusing on the incorporation of companies, relocations, restructuring and project management, corporate income tax, with particular emphasis on real estate, tourism, and startups investment.

She graduated in Law from the University of Porto (2019) and did a one-year program of Commercial and Company Law at Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam (The Netherlands).

Alongside her degree, she was for 5 years External Relations at the first social junior company in Portugal, U.DREAM, focusing on representation and responsible for partnerships. Furthermore, she represented Portugal at WUDC - World University Debate Championship, in Mexico, in 2018/2019.

Additionally, she completed a Business Administration and General Management Program at Porto Business School (2020), ranked 41st in the Financial Times 2021 index for Business Schools, in Executive Education.

Simultaneously, she joined the Portuguese Bar Association internship in commercial and corporate law with Dr. José de Freitas (Jubilee Lawyer of CUATRECASAS, President of CCBE and member of CNEF at the time), at José de Freitas - Sociedade de Advogados SP RL and, later, in white collar crime with Dr. Nuno Brandão (Professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the University of Coimbra and member of CNEF).

Along with her internship at the Portuguese Bar Association, she completed a Postgraduate degree in Law and Technology at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (2021), with her final paper on "Disinformation: the lunar side of the utopia of democratic knowledge. Analysis of the state of the art and reflection on potential solutions.”

After having passed the Bar Exam and becoming a fully capacitated lawyer in February 2022, she joined the Litigation and Arbitration department at Caiado Guerreiro.
